Visit at the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences under the project “Teaching and learning in Multicultural Classroom” funded by the Nordplus program

Four representatives of the Faculty of Business Management of Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences – the Head of Business Innovations Department, lecturer Vaiva Chockevičiūtė, the Head of Advertising and Communication Department, lecturer Lina Žirnelė, the Head of International Business Department, associate professor Nikolaj Ambrusevič and the Head of Training and Cooperation Development Division, lecturer Laima Paraukienė – have visited Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences on 28-31 of September 2021 and participated in the training under the project “Teaching and learning in Multicultural Classroom” funded by the Nordplus program.

During the visit, the usage of active learning (teaching) methods used by the lecturers of the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and teachers of the International School of Tallinn were observed. The following key directions for the efficient implementation of active learning (teaching) methods were identified during discussions with representatives of the higher education institutions from Latvia, Estonia, Denmark and Norway: involvement of students in a study process, teamwork in an intercultural environment, organizing student discussions and debates.

Representatives of the Business Management Faculty, together with the project partners, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the concept of the smart city Ülemiste: modern office complexes, residential houses, educational and medical institutions, leisure and entertainment spaces, as well as future plans to use autonomous vehicles in the smart city.

The International House of Estonia was also visited. Leonardo Daniels Ortega Prudencio, the Head of International House of Estonia, shared his insights on how to attract the best business talents from all over the world to Estonia, adapt them in a new environment, and shared the excellent results of their activities.

The participants had an opportunity to participate in the activities and competition of “Rakett69”, a popular television show promoting students’ creative and technical thinking, and representatives of Vilnius kolegija/University of Applied Sciences performed well!
