Workshops, forum and final events of the project “Foreign talents for Lithuania”

On November 20–21, the Faculty was buzzing with the events of the State Study Foundation project “Foreign Talents for Lithuania: Searching for an Innovative Collaboration Model Between Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions and Organizations”. These events were attended by students from the project’s partner institutions, Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution and Lithuania Business College, who, together with students from Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution, had the opportunity to:

  • participate in hands-on culinary workshops where, in addition to cooking, students deepened their understanding of different cultures. For example, they learned that students in other countries (such as Slovakia) have similar variations of potato pancakes.
  • join guided tours of Vilnius Old Town conducted in English by a professional guide, gaining a better understanding of Lithuania’s history and cultural aspects.
  • engage in team-based intercultural activities, where students from Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Vilnius discussed the integration of foreign students and proposed solutions that could be implemented by students, higher education institutions and businesses. Students have also presented their ideas.
  • attend a forum featuring foreign students, lecturers and business representatives, where success stories in Lithuania were shared and discussions were held on how an innovative integration model for foreign students in Lithuania could be shaped. The students posed numerous questions to the discussion participants.
  • students have also visited museums in Vilnius (Mo Museum and Museum of Illusions) where they could individually and in teams explored Lithuanian art and culture.

The project prizes, funded by the State Studies Foundation, were awarded to the following students who actively participated in various project activities: Yaroslav Zubakha (CI24E group), Mantas Valatkevičius (OM22 group), Milda Keršytė (OM22 group). Thank you to everyone who was involved in the project activities!

The events were organized by Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution in collaboration with partners as part of the State Studies Foundation project “Foreign Talents for Lithuania: Searching for an Innovative Collaboration Model Between Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions and Organizations.”
