CSR Design Thinking Workshop Brought Ideas Into Action at the Faculty of Business Management

On Tuesday, April 29, 2026, Faculty of Business Management hosted an engaging CSR Design Thinking Workshop that brought together students, lecturers, and professionals for an afternoon dedicated to creativity, collaboration, and socially responsible innovation.

Facilitated by Professors Muhammad Sohail and Dalia Karlaitė, the workshop encouraged participants to move beyond traditional problem-solving approaches and explore the principles of design thinking through real-life challenges and hands-on activities.

The session began with an introduction to the differences between conventional problem-solving and human-centered design thinking. Participants then worked through the full design thinking process: identifying relevant social and environmental issues, conducting interviews with students, listening to real experiences and needs, and developing solution ideas based on authentic feedback rather than assumptions.

Working in teams, participants transformed insights gathered during interviews into practical and socially responsible solution concepts. Only the ideas that genuinely reflected the needs and perspectives of the interviewed participants advanced to the final stage of the workshop.

The event highlighted the importance of empathy, collaboration, and active listening in creating impactful solutions and demonstrated how higher education can contribute to social responsibility through innovation and community engagement.

The workshop created a dynamic learning environment where ideas moved from conversation to action — showcasing how design thinking can empower future professionals to address real-world challenges with creativity and purpose.
