Intercultural Communication lectures

We kindly invite all VIKO students to participate at the Intercultural Communication lectures in English that will be held on November 5th at 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM in the Monaco auditorium and on MS TEAMS. The activities will be led by the lecturer-practitioner Daiva Babilevičienė. During the event students will be able to improve their Intercultural Communication competencies.

Description of the lectures:

“Across Cultures: Unlocking Verbal and Nonverbal Communication”

This lecture explores the essential role of verbal and nonverbal communication in intercultural settings. Through a 1.5-hour lecture, students will gain insights into how different cultures express and interpret messages, from spoken language to body language, gestures, and tone. We’ll examine key cultural differences, common challenges, and strategies for effective intercultural communication.

In the following 1.5-hour practice session, students will engage in interactive activities, role-plays, and real-world scenarios to apply these concepts, fostering deeper understanding and skill development in cross-cultural interactions.

The activities are organized as a part of the State Study Foundation project “Foreign Talents for Lithuania: Searching for an Innovative Cooperation Model between Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions and Organisations”.
