Social responsibility

In September-November 2023, the Faculty implemented a project funded by the State Studies Foundation titled “Z Generation Studies: Challenges and Solutions in Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions.” During this project, in collaboration with Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania Business College, and Lithuanian Audiosensory Library:

  • Students have created a leaflet providing information on social and psychological support for students.
  • Training sessions on “Autistic students in higher education” and “Joy and spiritual life in higher education: myth or reality” were held. During these sessions, members of the Faculty community learned about the concept of autism, the challenges faced by autistic people, the most common fears of autistic students, and measures to address them.
  • A lecture-seminar on tolerance was conducted.
  • On October 5, 2023, Dyslexia Month was commemorated: representatives from the Lithuanian Audio Sensory Library were invited to the faculty, providing students with the opportunity to learn more about dyslexia and identify invisible visual impairments.
  • On September 20-21, 2023, a training session on stress management and suicide prevention was conducted by lecturer Eglė Masalskienė, aimed at strengthening the psychological resilience and competencies of Lithuanian higher education institutions.
  • On November 6, 2023, the Faculty hosted Cake Day, where students and lecturers had the opportunity to taste delicious pastries and contribute to the charity initiative for the Mothers’ Union by sharing their bakery creations.
  • From October 23-27, 2023, we celebrated Climate Week, organized by the Ministry of Environment. Various activities were held to encourage discussions on the challenges of climate change and to seek solutions. The community expanded its knowledge about environmental protection, climate change, major sources of air pollution, and organizational sustainability.

During Climate Week, which took place from October 23-29, 2023, the faculty organized a series of lectures as part of an initiative initiated by the Ministry of Environment. By allowing open discussion on the challenges and possibilities of climate change, this activity promoted awareness and adaptation to climate change conditions, as well as increased community resilience.

From October 6-8, 2023, we participated in the Vilnius “Hack4Vilnius” hackathon, which aims to promote the search for innovative solutions to make the capital a healthier, cleaner, and smarter city. We are proud to contribute to the well-being of Vilnius!

From September 16-22, 2023, we joined the global sustainable mobility campaign JUDUMO WEEK to encourage students to use and promote sustainable transportation methods and to try alternative transportation options.

In March 2023, Socially Responsible Business students attended a lecture by Silvia Rodriguez Boza, Head of Social Responsibility at Avia Solutions Group. Initiatives aiming for sustainability were presented to the students: less polluting airplanes and the use of electric vehicles in passenger service.
