Student debates at the Faculty of Business Management

Debating trainings have been successfully organised at the Faculty of Business Management of VIKO in the autumn of 2023. The trainings were led by the representatives of the Association “Youth Debate”. Students have learned what debates are and why they are important, how debates can help improve personal development, got acquainted with the “Youth debates” debate format, reviewed debate rules and evaluation criteria, watched and analyzed debates, and developed relevant debating questions, worked in teams while preparing for the debate. At the final event of the debating, on October 26 students have practically applied the acquired knowledge and practical skills by debating with each other. Project partners, students and professors, from Šiauliai State College and Lithuanian Business College, also have participated in the final debate event.

The trainings and debates were organized by Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution with the project partners under the State Study Fund project “Generation Z studying: challenges and opportunities in Lithuanian higher education institutions”. The project aims to improve the psychological learning environment of higher education institution and strengthen students’ psychological resilience.
