Students Enhance Skills in Innovation and AI: Visit to UAB ‘Vilniaus vandenys’

Last week, on October 31, 2024, during a visit to UAB “Vilniaus vandenys”, Brigita Gudonė, Director of the Quality and Innovation Department, has introduced Faculty students to the company’s history, internal processes and addressed different questions regarding the application of artificial intelligence tools in operational processes, the measurement of drinking water quality in Vilnius city and the challenges faced.

During the visit, students developed the following skills and competencies:

  • Analytical skills (by learning about the drinking water quality measurement processes in Vilnius, students deepened their understanding of quality control processes; by becoming familiar with the company’s history and internal operations, students enhanced their knowledge of how large organizations in Lithuania function);
  • Critical thinking skills (the discussion on the challenges faced by the company provided students with the opportunity to engage with real-world problems and improve their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities);
  • Technological competencies (the discussion on the application of artificial intelligence tools in business operations equipped students with knowledge about AI technologies and their practical applications in business).

We are grateful for a warm welcome from UAB “Vilniaus vandenys” and for collaboration in strengthening students’ entrepreneurial competencies!

The visit was organized by Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution (VIKO) in collaboration with partners as part of the State Studies Foundation project “Foreign Talents for Lithuania: a Search for an Innovative Cooperation Model between Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions and Organizations”.
